The Second Term of Donald J. Trump as President of the United States of America

"trumped up" "charges", delicate choice of words.

OK R5,
That surely is a risk, BUT !
I've never seen a one-sided coin.
- We already know how citizens can die within the status quo.
- Even King Kanute can't hold back the tide.

"In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty is in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed, and in the next place, oblige it to control itself." James Madison

Do we have the luxury of passive decision-making ("passive" decision-making can include failing to decide, which means to accept the status quo)?
We shouldn't static model this. Along with proliferating A.I., biometric government surveillance is expanding, along with other tracking technologies such as cell-phone tracking, license plate readers, etc.

You can see the Madison quotation above. Are the People losing this contest?

Unfortunately, in many cases this distinction can be subjective.

Trump says he needs Greenland for national security.
So can / will Putin / Russia claim need of Alaska for national security?

ICE agents are wearing masks because they claim they need anonymity, when in reality it is essentially illegal for any public employee to be anonymous so that we can file complaints.
It is the public that needs anonymity, so that political dissent is possible without being then targeted for illegal retaliation.

Madison was Federalist, so one of my least favorite Founders.
I am more of an anarchist and believe government has no authority to try to control anyone on its own, but only is given delegated authority when they defend one group from harm by other groups.

With Greenland, the reality is our military power comes from wealth, so Trump is equating wealth with national security.
The way it should work is no one nations should have to go it alone, but the whole world should share the burden of justice and security.

From my friend the always brilliant Carin Mrotz: A post for my friends and family outside of Minneapolis. There is a lot of misinformation flying around and I want to share my perspective if it's useful or compelling or helps cut through the clickbait and profiteering.

Over the past several weeks, thousands of ICE agents have been deployed to the Twin Cities and more are expected this week. There are currently more ICE agents than local law enforcement in the metro area. In some places they are visiting businesses that are likely to employ or serve immigrants looking for people to arrest. In some places they are camping out in cars on highway exit ramps and pulling over drivers they believe look like they could be immigrants. In neighborhoods like mine that are primarily residential with few business corridors, they are staging targeted raids of homes. But they mix it up, yesterday they were driving around the neighborhood and a neighbor reported that an agent pulled over and asked her husband, who was out walking the dog, if he was a US citizen.

Yesterday morning I received a text in my neighborhood group chat that more than a dozen agents were staging outside of a house a few blocks away, legal observers were needed. I put on boots and drove over to a home near our middle school and found the street full of SUVs and men in militarized but not standardized gear with big "POLICE" labels all over them. These men were carrying big guns. Several of my friends had already been maced and one of the agents was spraying mace into a crowd of observers as casually as ....

With or without Greenland the reality is our military power comes from wealth acquired over a quarter millennium without the U.S. occupying any more of Greenland than she volunteered.
Trump threatening Greenland -the easy way, or the hard way - has already done more harm to the U.S. that whatever would be perceived to be gained.

BREAKING: Hillary and Bill Clinton defy the Republican subpoenas to testify on the Epstein files and refuse to be the whipping boy for Trump’s cover-up of his alleged sex crimes with Epstein!

House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer is carrying the water for Donald Trump and his former best friend, notorious pedophile and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, by wasting government resources in a witch-hunt against Bill Clinton.

Former First Lady Hillary Clinton responded to Comer’s subpoenas with a powerful statement refusing to play a part in this ridiculous dog-and-pony show and urges him to go investigate the outrageous crimes being committed by the Trump administration on a daily basis.

The formal statement from Bill and Hillary Clinton addresses Comer directly:

“We want to take a moment, given everything, to address you directly.

“This past year has seen our Government engage in unprecedented acts, including against our own citizens. People have been seized by masked federal agents from their homes, their workplaces, and the streets of their communities. Students and scientists with visas permitting them to study and work here have been deported without due process. The people who laid siege to the U.S. Capitol have been pardoned and called heroes. Agencies vital to the country’s national security have been dismantled. Universities, media companies, and law firms have been subjected to threats to their funding, access, and licensing unless they made concessions and surrendered their right to constitutionally protected free speech. American troops have been deployed on the streets of our towns and cities. The Justice Department has been used as a weapon, at the direction of the President, to pursue political opponents. And most recently and searingly, an ICE agent killed an unarmed mother only days ago.”

“Every person has to decide when they have seen or had enough and are ready to fight for this country, its principles and its people, no matter the consequences.”

“For us, now is that time.”

“As chairman of this powerful congressional committee, you have immense power to .....

Agreed.
The idea of violating NATO would do a lot more harm than we could gain from wealth out of Greenland.
Even if global warming makes Greenland more profitable, I doubt the infrastructure cost would be worth it.

US military guidelines warn against a civilian disguise

However, U.S. military guidelines on the laws of war prohibit troops from pretending to be civilians while engaging in combat. The practice is legally known as “perfidy.”
The Defense Department manual, which runs over 1,000 pages, specifically notes that “feigning civilian status and then attacking” is an example of the practice. An Air Force manual says the practice was prohibited because it means the enemy “neglects to take precautions which are otherwise necessary.”

Donald Trump Yells 'F--k You' and Flips Off Man After Being Called a 'Pedophile Protector.' White House Defends His 'Appropriate' Response

A White House spokesperson said Trump gave 'an appropriate and unambiguous response'
By Madison E. Goldberg

  • President Donald Trump was caught on camera raising his middle finger and yelling "F--k you" to a man who called him a "pedophile protector"
  • The incident occurred while Trump visited the Ford F-150 plant before delivering his speech at the Detroit Economic Club in Michigan on Tuesday, Jan. 13
  • The comment likely refers to Trump's connection with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein
President Donald Trump was caught on camera raising his middle finger and yelling "F--k you" to a man who called him a "pedophile protector" amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the full release of the Epstein files — and the White House is defending his response.

The moment, seen in a video published by TMZ, occurred while Trump, 79, visited the Ford F-150 plant before delivering his speech at the Detroit Economic Club in Michigan on Tuesday, Jan. 13. The person who made the comment was allegedly a worker at the plant, per the outlet.

“A lunatic was wildly screaming expletives in a complete fit of rage, and the president gave an appropriate and unambiguous response," White House spokesperson Steven Cheung said in a statement to PEOPLE.

So yelling "F--k You" at someone making completely accurate statements is an appropriate response?

I never did get what all those boat strikes were actually about since there is no way these boats could carry enough fuel to get from Venezuela to the US, thousands of miles away.
And if a boat it not bound for the US, then clearly US laws would have no jurisdiction at all?
