U.S. news media portray Trump has composed a ~20 element plan to end Netanyahu's War on Hamas.
The "secret" that Trump wants a Nobel Peace Prize over this is so open Hillary Clinton has reportedly asserted, if Trump succeeds at it, he should get one.

Netanyahu's war on Hamas? What about the other seven (or is it ten) wars he claims to have stopped?

That said, I can't imagine Hillary making that comment in anything except a sarcastic manner as in "it'll never happen so go for it"

"Netanyahu's war on Hamas?" S2 #63
Yes.

"What about the other seven (or is it ten) wars he claims to have stopped?" S2 #63
The answer to that question entrains some interesting psychological complications.
Yet it may also switch on a glimmer of insight into the Trump prevarication dynamo.

Trump's characterizations of reality meander from consensus parameters widely and often.
It seems Trump knows the difference between chumming the waters of his political base, by groundlessly claiming he's stopped some wars, and actually doing so.
Trump seems to know he reaps political benefit from the former, but can't actually win a Nobel for it. BUT !

It seems this facet of Trump's vanity is strong enough for Trump to actually put some effort into it.

I'm nearly 100% w/ you on that S2.
Trump beat Hillary in 2016. For that reason and possibly others, wouldn't surprise me if she doesn't care for Donald all that much.

Perhaps there was also an element in Hillary's assertion:
Netanyahu is churning the rubble in what's left of Gaza. So this war is likely closer to the end than the beginning. BUT !
Even if Trump appears to have catalyzed an end to the war, even if he hasn't, crediting the orange eminence is a poison pill worth swallowing, IF it attends an end to the carnage.
but yeah, I imagine former Secretary of State Hillary understands, if accomplishing this particular peace is as difficult as usual, the Donald isn't up to it

It's axiomatic, the best way to have a friend is to be a friend.
It would seem even a casual observer would understand Netanyahu's war on civilization isn't winning him much friendship, except perhaps an odd orange person here or there.

"Will our governments hold Israel accountable?" LaBelle #68
The U.S. federal government under the "leadership" of President Trump is quite unlikely to.
The U.S., Commander in Chief Trump, has about 10K military troops in Qatar, with U.S. assurance of providing defense there.
On the morning of September 9, 2025, 15 Israeli jets carried out an airstrike on residential buildings in Doha, Qatar. Israel claimed that the strike was a precisely targeted attack on Hamas political leaders, who had been meeting to discuss the latest ceasefire deal proposed by the United States as part of ongoing efforts to end the war in Gaza.

The United States has formal diplomatic relations with both Israel and Qatar, but perhaps more valuable informal sympathies, and thus stronger commitment with Israel.
When Israel attacked Qatar U.S. promises of military defense of Qatar were proved groundless.

"He with two masters serves neither." Mathew 6:24

Without formal obligation to do so, failing to assist may simply demonstrate a deficiency of character.

Abrogating a formal treaty commitment to defend is betrayal. And at issue in Doha, Qatar was not merely a Russian style trespass. 15 Israeli jets carried out an airstrike, 6 killed.

Greta Thunberg speaks to press after being released from illegal detainment

Trust me, but that is not the story.

The environmental campaigner Greta Thunberg has told Swedish officials she is being subjected to harsh treatment in Israeli custody after her detention and removal from a flotilla carrying aid to Gaza, according to correspondence seen by the Guardian.

According to the correspondence, Israeli forces are also reported by another detainee to have taken photographs where Thunberg was allegedly forced to hold flags. The identity of the flags is unknown.

In an email sent by the Swedish foreign ministry to people close to Thunberg, and seen by the Guardian, an official who has visited the activist in prison said she claimed she was detained in a cell infested with bedbugs, with too little food and water.

“The embassy has been able to meet with Greta,” reads the email. “She informed of dehydration. She has received insufficient amounts of both water and food. She also stated that she had developed rashes which she suspects were caused by bedbugs. She spoke of harsh treatment and said she had been sitting for long periods on hard surfaces.”

“Another detainee reportedly told another embassy that they had seen her [Thunberg] being forced to hold flags while pictures were taken. She wondered whether images of her had been distributed,” the Swedish ministry’s official added.

The allegation was corroborated by at least two other members of the flotilla who had been detained by Israeli forces and released on Saturday.

“They dragged little Greta [Thunberg] by her hair before our eyes, beat her, and forced her to kiss the Israeli flag. They did everything imaginable to her, as a warning to others,” the Turkish activist Ersin Çelik, a participant in the Sumud flotilla, told Anadolu news agency.
