A protest, explicitly so.

The question is whether this is better service to the ego of a frustrated expert, or of some benefit to the broader organization, and the People.
Either way this vacancy increases the ratio of nuts running the nut house government.

Trump ends security protection for former Vice President Harris, senior White House official says

By Steve Holland / August 29, 20257:54 AM GMT-5
WASHINGTON, Aug 29 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump has canceled Secret Service protection for former vice president and 2024 Democratic rival Kamala Harris, a senior White House official said on Friday.
Former vice presidents typically receive six months of Secret Service protection after they leave office.

Harris' protection was extended to one year, until January 2026, by then-President Joe Biden before he left office last January, the official said.

Here to fore ruthless partisan treachery was limited by the knowledge establishing a new destructive precedent subjected those party to such innovation to it being turned against them when the opposition party resumed control / political dominance.
Apparently Trump does not consider such reciprocity a serious consideration, demonstrating Trump has as much contempt for the Republican party as he has for the Democrat.

Constitutional articles #1 (legislative), article # 2 (executive), & article #3 (judicial) differentiate "separate but equal" branches of U.S. federal government.
According to nearly a quarter millennium of U.S. history President Trump is in examples such as this functioning more like a king than a president.

Congress retains legislative authority. Clearly the Republican dominated congress lacks the spine, or the principles, or both, to put their foot down on such Trump administration excesses.
The question is, if / when Democrats retake congressional leadership in house & senate, will they legislate limitations which prevent future presidents from Trump-like excesses?

note:
MAGA has already aggressed against the Harris household. While VP Harris was away, A Trump faithful invaded the Harris home, and attacked her husband with a hammer.
Certainly, Trump has fallen short of ordering a mob-style "hit" on the former VP. None the less, can it be argued this Trump administration executive order does not elevate mortal risk to the former VP [D]?

Occupy Democrats

21h ·

BREAKING:
Former President Barack Obama escalates his attacks on Donald Trump as silence ceases to be an option, slamming his fascist use of troops to take over American cities.

If Obama is sounding the alarm bell like this, we all need to take notice...

“The erosion of basic principles like due process and the expanding use of our military on domestic soil puts the liberties of all Americans at risk, and should concern Democrats and Republicans alike,” Obama wrote on X.

He posted a link to an article entitled "Trump Is Building His Own Paramilitary Force" and said that it "provides a useful overview of some of the dangerous trends we’ve been seeing in recent months regarding federalization and militarization of state and local police functions."

The article that Obama linked to correctly characterizes Trump's use of the military and police as a "response to a crisis that is completely of Trump’s own making.”

There is no violent crime wave sweeping the country like Trump wants us to believe. His deployment of the National Guard to Washington, D.C. was designed solely to seize more power for himself. In reality, the city's violent crime recently hit a 30 year low.

Trump is trying to get American citizens gradually used to the sight of soldiers and armored vehicles on our streets. His vision of America is a totalitarian MAGA dystopia with himself installed atop it as king for live.

In a separate post, Obama slammed Republicans for "trying to redraw congressional district lines to keep their grip on Congress in the midterms and beyond."

“Voters should pick their politicians, not the other way around," he added. He called the current crisis an "existential threat to our democracy."

Obama has endorsed California Governor Gavin Newsom's plan to redistrict his state to add blue seats to balance out the Republican-leaning seats that MAGA Governor Greg Abbott is ramming through in Texas.

Our democracy is on the line right now. Obama is ready to fight, are you?

Constitution of the United States of America
ARTICLE#14: Ratified July 9, 1868
SECTION3. Sending Trump packing would be child's play.
If the Dem's aren't serious enough about the Constitutional crisis Trump has already manifest, then they're forfeiting our democratic republic before our 250th anniversary.

Sending Trump packing would be child's play.
Not sure that would be enough - the problem extends far beyond him and includes all (or at least almost all) the GOP reps. And don't forget that if Trump goes we're going to have to learn to live with "President Vance".

If the Dem's aren't serious enough about the Constitutional crisis Trump has already manifest, then they're forfeiting our democratic republic before our 250th anniversary.
And that's why future history books will say that the US was a nice experiment while it lasted.

"Your grandmother was wrong. So was your kindergarten teacher. Turns out, when faced with a bully, ignoring them and 'taking the high road' isn’t just ineffective; it’s psychologically counterproductive.

Governor Gavin Newsom figured this out. While Democrats spent years wringing their hands about 'norms' and 'dignity,' Newsom did something radical: he started fighting fire with fire. He’s trolling Trump with memes, calling his officials 'fascist cucks,' and posting TikToks that mock the president with Nickelback songs. The pearl-clutchers are horrified. The psychologists? They’re fascinated.

Research on bullying reveals an uncomfortable truth that contradicts decades of feel-good advice. Studies of children aged 11–12 found that those who 'returned hostility with hostility appeared to be the most mature.' Boys who stood up to ....

Of course the obvious question is "how accurate is this software?" - that is, how many "false positives" will it generate. While I have no sympathy for actual agents I am concerned about people mistakenly being labelled as such.

“An activist has started using artificial intelligence to identify Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents beneath their masks — a use of the technology sparking new political concerns over AI-powered surveillance.”

This is amazing! They love Ai so much, it’s funny to see Ai backfire!

“Dominick Skinner, a Netherlands-based immigration activist, estimates he and a group of volunteers have publicly identified at least 20 ICE officials recorded wearing masks during arrests. He told POLITICO his experts are “able to reveal a face using AI, if they have 35 percent or more of the face visible.”

“The AI-powered project adds a new twist to the debates over both ICE masking and government surveillance tools, as immigration enforcement becomes more widespread and aggressive.

ICE says its agents need to wear masks to prevent being unfairly harassed for doing their jobs. To their critics, agents in masks have become a potent symbol of unaccountable government force. The masking, and the counter-campaign to identify agents, has prompted a crossfire of bills on Capitol Hill.

ICE agents “don’t deserve to be hunted online by activists using AI,” said Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.), who chairs the Senate Homeland Security subcommittee on border management and the federal workforce.”

If those agents aren't willing to identify themselves how is anyone to know if they really are agents and not just anonymous thugs kidnapping people off the street.

Federal appeals court strikes down major chunk of Trump’s tariffs

The ruling will not take effect right away, giving the administration time to appeal to the Supreme Court.

By Doug Palmer, Kyle Cheney, Josh Gerstein and Daniel Desrochers 08/29/2025 05:47 PM EDT
A federal appeals court on Friday struck down President Donald Trump’s use of emergency powers granted by Congress to impose tariffs, opening the door for the administration to potentially have to repay billions worth of duties.
The 7-4 ruling raises doubt about deals Trump has struck with the European Union, Japan, South Korea and other major trading partners to reduce the “reciprocal” tariff rates on their imports, from the levels the administration originally set in April.

OK SCOTUS, Trump's hot $tariff potato is in your lap. So how you gunna split this baby? [you're welcome Solomon fans]

Gov. JB Pritzker claims Trump planning 'invasion' of Chicago with U.S. troops

Gov. JB Pritzker said during an interview that aired Friday that President Trump was planning an "invasion" of Chicago with U.S. troops.
President Donald Trump is intensifying his feud with Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker after another bloody weekend in Chicago, blasting the Democrat for rejecting federal help as six people were killed and more than two dozen shot.
In a fiery Truth Social post Saturday, Trump called Pritzker "incompetent" and warned the governor to "straighten it out, fast, or we’re coming."

US appeals court rules Trump’s foreign tariff campaign is largely illegal

But the court has allowed the tariffs to remain in place while the Trump administration appeals to the Supreme Court.

A United States appeals court has declared President Donald Trump’s blanket tariff policy illegal, but it stopped short of pausing the wide-ranging import taxes altogether.
On Friday, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, DC, largely upheld a decision in May that found Trump had overstepped his authority in imposing universal tariffs on all US trading partners.

ASA Urges Trump to Prioritize Soybean Purchases in US-China Trade Deal

by C.J. Miller

The American Soybean Association (ASA) has recently written a letter to President Trump urging him to remove retaliatory duties and seek significant soybean purchase commitments in a new trade deal with China.

ASA warns that retaliatory tariffs are shutting America’s soybean producers out of their largest export market going into this year’s harvest.

Mike Steenhoek, Executive Director of the Soy Transportation Coalition, says there are several reasons why China has become the largest buyer of U.S. soybeans over the past 25 years.

“One of the bullet points you would write would be large population. Another bullet point would be increasing per capita income. A third bullet point would be insatiable demand for pork for human consumption. You would have another bullet point that would say insatiable demand for poultry for human consumption. And then the final one would be ...
