Quotable Quotes

"We gave $60M two weeks ago for food to Gaza, and nobody acknowledged it, nobody talks about it. And it makes you feel a little bad when you do that, and you have other countries not giving anything...Nobody said, 'Gee, thank you very much.' And it would have been nice to have at least a thank you." ~ Trump, asked if Israel should do more to get aid into Gaza

"Aides said he talked about Ivanka Trump's breasts, her backside, and what it might be like to have sex with her, remarks that once led John Kelly to remind the president that Ivanka was his daughter." ~ former DHS chief of staff Miles Taylor, in his book Blowback

Have to say that any time Trump talked about sex with Ivanka it was never clear if he was fantasizing or reminiscing ,,,

"We're going to be getting some good strong food. We can save a lot of people." ~ Trump

"President Trump has brokered on average about one peace deal or ceasefire per month during his six months in office. It's well past time that President Trump was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize." ~

"She's become a star. It's that face. It's that brain. It's those lips, the way they move. They move like she's a machine gun." ~ Trump, asked his opinion of the performance of his press secretary, Karoline Leavitt

🇺🇸
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt loves to preach about “family values” and “traditional America.” But here’s the thing… she doesn’t exactly fit the mold she promotes.

👶
She had her baby in July 2024.

💍
She didn’t marry the father — wealthy real estate developer Nicholas Riccio — until January 2025, just days before Trump’s inauguration.

📅
He’s 32 years older than her. She’s 27. He’s 59. That’s old enough to be her dad.

Before this relationship? No record of big money or self-made success. She lost a congressional race, left her campaign over $300,000 in debt, and worked in low‑level political staff jobs.

Yet she still gets up on a podium and lectures the country like she’s the moral compass for America.

It’s not about judging her personal life — it’s about calling out the hypocrisy. If you’re going to preach “traditional values,” maybe try living them first.

In fairness, I'm not bothered by her being giving birth before she was married and, while the age difference between her and her husband is a little unusual, it's far from unheard of. It's the hypocrisy of preaching so called "traditional values" while living the exact opposite.

"... I pray that our heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom."

Poor Abe, perhaps he might have been a more popular president if he'd mentioned machine guns more often.

"We didn't kill enough Indians." ~ Ann Coulter
And Hitler didn't kill enough communists, Jews, & trade unionists? [inspired by rev. Niemöller]

"First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a communist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out- because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out - because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me - and there was no one left to speak out for me." pastor Martin Niemöller
Thanks Marty.

"Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the 'HOTTEST' ad out there. It's for American Eagle, and the jeans are 'flying of [sic] the shelves.' Just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift. Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can't stand her (HATE!). She was booed out of the Super Bowl and became, NO LONGER HOT. The tide has seriously turned -- Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" ~ Trump

If there was no Trump, and this was simple fictional satire, I'd consider it over-the-top farce. It's not plausible. Thanks S2 for ... well, the Trump administration is sub-optimal. But a snicker here or there helps lighten the mood.

"These people, you can't replace them very easily. You know, people that live in the inner city are not doing that work. They're just not doing that work. And they've tried, we've tried, everybody tried. They don't do it. These people do it naturally." ~ Trump, on shortage of farm laborers, caused by his deportation policies

"You have this woman, [Rep. Jasmine] Crockett. Very low-IQ person...I wonder if she's any relation to the late, great Davy Crockett, who is a great, great, a great, gentleman. I wonder if she's got any relationship to Davy Crockett. The great old Davy Crockett." ~ Trump

"Welcome to the Golden Age of America!" ~ email from Trump

Sounds more like the "Gilded Age". From Wiki

In United States history, the Gilded Age is the period from about the late 1870s to the late 1890s, which occurred between the Reconstruction era and the Progressive Era. It was named by 1920s historians after Mark Twain's 1873 novel The Gilded Age: A Tale of Today. Historians saw late 19th-century economic expansion as a time of materialistic excesses marked by widespread political corruption.

It was a time of rapid economic growth, especially in the Northern and Western United States. As American wages grew much higher than those in Europe, especially for skilled workers, and industrialization demanded an increasingly skilled labor force, the period saw an influx of millions of European immigrants. The rapid expansion of industrialization led to real wage growth of 40% from 1860 to 1890 and spread across the increasing labor force. The average annual wage per industrial worker, including men, women, and children, rose from $380 in 1880 ($12,381 in 2024 dollars[1]) to $584 in 1890 ($19,738 in 2024 dollars[1]), a gain of 59%.[2] The Gilded Age was also an era of significant poverty,[3][4] especially in the South, and growing inequality, as millions of immigrants poured into the United States, and the high concentration of wealth became more visible and contentious.

The Gilded Age Is Back — And That Should Worry Conservatives

Corporate dominance over politics brought power, wealth — and backlash.

Sorry - the NYT article is behind a paywall and I can't get past it. However, this seems to cover much the same thing
