The Second Term of Donald J. Trump as President of the United States of America

Is the US preparing to strike Iran again?

Jonathan Beale Defence correspondent

Earlier this month, US President Donald Trump sent a message to Iranians who were protesting against the regime, that "help is on its way".

Since then, there has been a slow, steady and significant build-up of US military forces in the region.

America, which is the world's most powerful military, has already shown it can strike Iran. Last June's operation "Midnight Hammer" targeted its nuclear facilities.

It involved more than 100 aircraft, with B-2 stealth jets flying all the way from the United States to deliver ....

What is so dumb about attacking Iran is that Iran has done nothing remotely illegal, and the US did when we overthrew the Iranian democracy in 1953.
So Iranians are going to counter attack, and could easily just use sabotage inside the US in order to make up for our weapons superiority.

Have to admit this is so close that my first thought was that he was being sarcastic. Instead he's just dumb.

That is hilarious, since ICE is so secret, they wear masks so are even worse than the Gestapo.
ICE uses no warrants, courts, lawyers, or appeals.
People do vanish in the night from ICE.
But ICE even drags them screaming from their car, which is even worse than what the Gestapo did.

The truth is Hitler was far right anti-socialist, and had all the socialists killed in the "Night of the Long Knives" in 1934.
The meaning of "National Socialist" is anti-socialist.
Absolutely but too many people focus on the name and don't understand what Hitler and the Nazis were

"Donald & Melania beyond arms reach of one another, seeming to ignore even the presence of the other." #2,614
Ahhh, that's First Family chemistry on camera my friends.

Do you suppose Melania's saving up enough money so she can run away from home? Or is her risk of deportation too great?
Do presidential divorcees get secret service protection?

"While I personally would prefer to see Iran NOT become a nuclear power, after we lied about Iraqi WMD and murdered half a million innocent Iraqis, now all countries have a legitimate need for a nuclear deterrent." R5 #2,615
Tragically, needlessly, horrifically true.
You cite Iraq. I cite Libya.

I thought the idea was to slow nuclear weapons proliferation among the planet's nations.
Yet we bungle this, adding perverse incentive for nations to rush to WMD deterrent.

Your intended point I deduce R5. Mine as well. The policy we have already implemented is exactly contrary to this fundamental objective.

We and future generations will pay the price.

"It very much looks like the US Government has just abducted two people from Scotland ..." Greer

So now we're kidnapping people from other countries?? I'm violation of their sovereignty and court orders forbidden their entry to the county??? I've never hated s government more than i currently hate ours! S2 #2,617

Isn't such international kidnapping an act of war? A violation of the target nation's sovereignty?
If the United States is guilty it should be forced to pay a painful and enduring penalty for this inexcusable breach of civilization.

And if it is possible to punish those US government officials that ordered this kidnapping, that punishment should be administered legally, promptly, and severely.

On the vanilla FOX page, the headline is:
Trump brokers last-minute funding deal as Senate Republicans swallow bitter pill
https://www.foxnews.com/

note to S2 & R5, the above headline would not C-&-P (either?).

Click the teaser headline, and the full article has a different headline:

Republicans, Dems break through resistance, move forward with Trump-backed funding package

Will these clowns avert a shutdown?

I can't imagine why in the world the US would want to kidnap the captain and 1st mate of this tanker, since it clearly is so high in the water that it can't have any oil?
Since it was docked in Scotland, legally the US was supposed to go through the legal procedures of Scotland, even if they did have any sort of case.
Very odd and disturbing.
